Alexey Tikhomirov
Alexey raduated from Russia’s Kazan Conservatory as a conductor and choirmaster. He commenced his professional career at the Helikon Opera in Moscow. His performances for the company include the title role in Boris Godunov, Don Basilioin Il barbiere di Siviglia, Gremin in Eugene Onegin, King of Egypt in Aida, Kolenatý in The Makropulos Affair and Andrey Degtiarenko in Fallen from the Sky.
Other engagements include the roles of Sobakin in The Tsar’s Bride, Monterone and Sparafucile in Rigoletto, Méphistophélès in Faust, Gremin in Eugene Onegin, René in Iolanta, Russlan in Russlan and Lyudmila and Strafokamil in Vampuka (for the Galina Vishnevskaya Opera Centre in Moscow), Sparafucile in Rigoletto (in Busetto), Malyuta Skuratov in The Tsar’s Bride (at the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall in Moscow), Don Basilio in Il barbiere di Siviglia (in Cyprus), Sobakin in The Tsar’s Bride (in Catania), the title role is Boris Godunov (in Tel Aviv, Miskolc, Sophia, Reggio Emilia and Massy), Melnik in Rusalka (in Kazan), the title role and Pimen in Boris Godunov (in Liège and at the Santander Festival in Spain), Agamemnon in Iphigénie en Aulide (in Rome), Moïse and Osiris in Moïse et Pharaon (at the Salzburg Festival), Orlik in Mazeppa (in Lyon) and Commendatore in Don Giovanni (with the Combattimento Consort Amsterdam).
Alexey’s concert engagements include Cherubini’s Messe Solennelle (with the Vienna Philharmonic), Haydn’s Die sieben letzten Worte unseres Erlösers am Kreuze (at the Osterklang Festival in Vienna), Bach’s Weihnachts-Orratorium (at the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall in Moscow), Mozart’s Vesperae solennes de confessore (with the Bayerischen Rundfunk Symphony Orchestra in Munich) as well as concerts at the Opéra Monte Carlo and at the St Petersburg Philharmonic.
Upcoming engagements include performing Rossini’s Stabat Mater (with the Vienna Philharmonic in Vienna, Graz and Linz), and the roles of Commendatore in Don Giovanni (in Toulouse), Wurm in Luisa Miller (in Lyon), Russlan in Russlan and Lyudmila (at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow) and the title role in Boris Godunov (in Santiago de Chile).
