Pre-performance Talks
Gain a deeper insight into each of our mainstage productions with our entertaining and informative free pre-performance talks. Talks begin 45 minutes before the start of each performance and are held in a space near the theatre.
For our Lyric Theatre productions of The Elixir of Love and Aida, pre-performance talks will take place on the Balcony Foyer. Please note – seating is available however it is limited so please arrive early to secure a place.
For our Conservatorium Theatre production of The Merry Widow, the pre-performance talk will be held in the Opera Queensland Studio. To access the studio, enter Opera Queensland via Reception on Level One and follow the directional signage to the Ground Floor.

Exploring Opera!
Opera Queensland's Artistic Administrator, Brad Jarrett, can be heard at 8pm on the first Thursday of every month (from March to November) on 4MBS Classic FM in our special series called Exploring Opera! Brad will take listeners on a journey of discovery about the music, the artists and the performances in Opera Queensland's 2010 Season; and he'll share a few snippets of what's going on behind the scenes in the world of opera.

You’ll be treated to mouthwatering arias and ensembles by the legendary opera composers Verdi, Mozart and Puccini, as well as excerpts from those all-time favourite operas, The Barber of Seville, Don Giovanni, Carmen and so much more! Brisbane Festival is thrilled to bring together two of Brisbane’s iconic arts organisations, Opera Queensland and Queensland Symphony Orchestra, for a very special performance of the operatic classic, The Marriage of Figaro, conducted by Nicholas Braithwaite. Audiences have long enjoyed this witty yet profound tale of love, betrayal and forgiveness, set against Mozart’s magnificent operatic score.
